Default social instructors - teach emotes

I want an npc for every class in Ascalon that will teach you the social graces. The full range of emotes for every class is available through the npc who belongs to that class.

monk m - I love the tuant, I love the flex
necro f - I love the dance, I love the jump

the others, there are things I like, I always like a few emotes on the characters I'm playing and I always hate many of them. The monk m dance is a good idea, but it looks more like /exercise than dance, the necro f dance just looks retarded, the ele m dance looks like he's on crack...

cost, 500 g per emote. A good cash sink and it would be nice to fully customize your emotes.

I agree. This is a great idea and adds more customization, which GW really needs. Also, it would make a fun gold sink, especially if there were "new" emotes that can only be obtained through purchase (Perhaps for much more than the 500g or whatever the other emotes cost?.)

I would pay for new emotes that would be cool. I like the monk flex, but I like the necros dance.

Um The necro F dances to Thriller. thats awesome. The warrior m and f do pulp fiction. I'm pretty sure the ele m dances like elaine from sienfeld. the memsmers do lord of the dance. I mean come on. I love that the dances are recognizable.

I like that they're recognizable... but why shouldn't my female monk be able to do the males pulp fiction dance? It would still be recognizable just on a different character. I would actually want all my chars to do the Thriller dance (that ones my favorite) and the m ele cheer, and the m monk flex, and his taunt and his boo (wtf is this "oh no you dint" garbage that the fem necro does?)

What a great and rather easy way to add some 'fun' into the game. And talk about a gold sink! They just better not allow an emote for underwear removal.

Some kind of 'auto' emote would be a great inclusion too.
You could pick from a list of preset emotes - different from the standard ones - for your character to randomly perform (after a given time of inactivity) instead of just standing still, looking around occaisionally.

Does anyone know what kind of 3d animation mechanism GW is using? Is it based on a model & real time "bones", so that any model can do any animation? Or is it old-fashioned but better performing "mesh" modeling, where every model can only do animations created for it?

My guess is the skeleton, seeing as how there're so many emotes/animations/etc for so many professions/sexes/armor combinations, which is why I think using the emotes of other professions would work.

Would it really be weirder than seeing a female ranger do the male warrior dance?

My guess is that female dancing could only be 'taught' to female characters and vice versa for males.
